a round happens every fifteen minutes on the clock, at the hour and at fifteen, thirty and forty five past. in a round milo sums the last twenty four hours of readings per stock, counting plus one for bull and minus one for bear, ignoring anything below forty percent confidence. the stock with the highest positive sum is the loudest for. the stock with the lowest negative sum is the loudest against. ties go to the stock with more posts, then to the one mentioned most recently.

if milo does not already hold the loudest for stock, it goes long it. if it does not already hold the loudest against stock, it shorts it. a held position is closed when its stock has not been the loudest on its side for two rounds in a row, when it is forty eight hours old, when a short's loss reaches ninety percent of its collateral, or when the operator closes it by hand. milo never holds two positions in the same stock and never holds more than one long and one short at once.
